Proposals for 200 homes on Gretna’s old golf course set for digital consultation

A developer’s plans to deliver 200 homes on the old golf course in the village of Gretna will be subject to an online consultation event this week.Alba Developments, which acquired the 28.5-acre site of the old golf course in 2019, is organising the digital event to inform the public about the plans as well as to gather the opinions of local people.The online event will be available via the specific project website www.albadevelopments-gretna.co.uk and will take place on June 11 from 4pm to 8pm. Consultants will be available throughout the event to answer questions and receive feedback.Planning Permission in Principle (PPP) was granted by Dumfries & Galloway Council in 2017 and Alba is now preparing its more detailed Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC).The mix of new houses will include and two and three-bed bungalows/terraces and four-bed family homes, with 20% of the new development set to provide affordable housing. The site will also include open space and the provision of a new cycleway and footpath connections through the new neighbourhood and the surrounding footpath network.
